Our Lady of Guadalupe feast will be celebrated around the archdiocese

Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz will celebrate the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Dec. 12 at two locations.

One service will begin at 5 a.m. at Epiphany Church, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road. A Mañanitas will take place before the Mass.

His second celebration of the feast day will take place at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Hodgenville Ky.
Both parishes will host a gathering after Mass.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, also known as the Virgin of Guadalupe, is the patroness of Mexico. The feast day is Dec. 12.

Other parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Louisville also are planning celebrations. They include:

  • St. Rita Church, 8709 Preston Highway — Mass will be celebrated Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in honor of St. Juan Diego. Masses also will be held Dec. 12 at midnight, 5 a.m and 7 p.m.
  • Immaculate Conception Church in La Grange, Ky. — Mañanitas will be held at 4:30 a.m. Dec. 12 and Mass will be at 7 p.m., followed by a gathering.
  • St. Dominic Church in Springfield, Ky. — Mañanitas will take place at 5 a.m. Dec. 12, followed by a gathering.
  • St. Edward Church, 9602 Sue Helen Drive — Mañanitas will start at 5 a.m. and Mass will take place at 7 p.m. Dec. 12. Both will be followed by a gathering.
  • St. Bartholomew Church, 2042 Buechel Bank Road — Mañanitas will take place at 5:30 a.m. Dec. 12 followed by a gathering. There will be a procession at 7 p.m. followed by Mass. A dinner and fiesta will follow Mass.
  • St. Peter the Apostle Church, 5431 Johnsontown Road — Mañanitas will be held at 5 a.m. followed by a gathering Dec. 12 in the St. Andrew Academy chapel, 7724 Columbine Drive. A procession will take place at 7 p.m. followed by Mass at St. Andrew Academy chapel. A play about the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe and a gathering will follow.
  • Annunciation Church in Shelbyville, Ky. — Mañanitas will take place at 5:30 a.m. followed by a gathering Dec. 12. Mass will be celebrated that evening at 7 p.m.
  • St. Helen Church in Glasgow, Ky. — Mañanitas will take place from midnight to 2 a.m. Dec. 12. Mass will take place that evening at 6 p.m., followed by a reception in the parish center.
  • Emmanuel Church in Albany, Ky. — The rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. followed by Mass at 6 p.m. Dec. 12. A gathering will take place after the Mass.
  • Christ the King Church in Tompkinsville, Ky. — Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. on Dec. 12, followed by the rosary and a gathering.
  • Holy Name Church, 2914 S. Third Street — Mass will be celebrated Dec. 11 at 11:30 p.m. followed by Mañanitas.
  • St. Bernard Church in Clementsville, Ky. — Mass will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 12 followed by a procession and a gathering.
