Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz will celebrate a Mass in honor of Our Lady of Cobre’s feast day Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. at St. Bartholomew Church, 2042 Buechel Bank Road.

Our Lady of Cobre, also known as Our Lady of Charity, was declared the patroness of Cuba by Pope Benedict XV in 1916 and solemnly crowned in the Eucharistic Congress held in Santiago, Cuba, in 1936, according to a statement from the celebration organizers.
