Kindergarten Countdown events continue around town

RecordLogo-FKindergarten Countdown, a series of events for students entering kindergarten, will be hosted at various locations in Louisville this summer.

Children entering kindergarten will receive a free T-shirt, which will serve as a ticket into events for the child and an accompanying adult.

The next events are:

June 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Calypso Cove water park at the YMCA Northeast branch, 9400 Mill Brook Road. This is the make-up date for the event which was cancelled June 23 due to inclement weather.

July 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a free family fun day at the Louisville Zoo, 1100 Trevillian Way.  There will be additional fees for some rides, exhibits and activities. For more information call the Louisville Zoo at 459-2181.

July 8 at 1 p.m. at the Commonwealth Theater Center, 1123 Payne St., for a performance of “Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.” The cost of additional tickets are $5 each and can be reserved by calling 589-0084 or visiting boxoffice@waldentheatre.org.

Stop by any Louisville Free Public Library to register and pick up the T-shirt and a free book.
