High schools win swimming championships

Swimming teams from two high schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville brought home state championships during recent competitions.

  • The Sacred Heart Academy swimming team won the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) state swimming and diving tournament. This is the sixth consecutive championship win for the team, according to a press release from the school.

Swimmers Claire Donan, Annabel Crush and Tonner DeBeer were named first team All-State. DeBeer was also named outstanding meet competitor and the Midway University KHSAA Female Student Athlete of the Year. 

  • The St. Xavier High School swimming team won the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) swimming and diving state championship during an event Feb. 24 at the Ralph Wright Natatorium. Swimmers Aldan Johnston and Will Cole earned 2018 First Team All-State swimming and diving honors. This is the 30th consecutive state title for the St. Xavier team.
