Hadorn-Disselkamp named Mercy Academy’s Alumna of the Year

Lori Hadorn-Disselkamp was named Mercy Academy’s 2012 Alumna of the Year at the senior luncheon May 16.

After graduating from Mercy in 1994, Hadorn-Disselkamp attended the University of Louisville where she received a bachelor’s degree from the School of Arts and Sciences. She was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society which recognizes students with a high level of academic achievement. While in Golden Key she developed a new program to teach inner city youth how to say no to drugs. She has worked with numerous children in local elementary schools. She graduated from U of L in 1996 and was married in 1997.

She was a stay-at-home mom for several years and in her spare time helped launch a program called Step by Step stewardship at St. Bernard School, where her children attended school.

Hadorn-Disselkamp has served as the coordinator of the service learning program at St. Bernard for seven years. She became involved in parish retreats and started her own blog called “Faith Filled Mom,” where she writes daily reflections about faith and life. She is a columnist for CatholicMoms.com and Extant Magazine. She has also written columns that appeared in The Record.

Additionally, Hadorn-Disselkamp is also a motivational speaker and retreat leader. She and her business partner Jennifer Schiller lead retreats at local parishes.
