University of Louisville football fans are invited to attend in Mass at Holy Name Church, 2914 S. Third St., following Saturday afternoon and evening home games. Mass will start 30 minutes after the game ends.
Dominican Father Martin Martiny, who serves as a chaplain on the University of Louisville’s campus, said the Mass is for everyone, not only students of the university.
“The idea is to offer the opportunity for the community to take part in Mass after the game and to meet their Sunday obligation and participate in the joy of the Eucharist before they do any further celebrating,” said Father Martiny.
Additional upcoming home games are scheduled for Oct. 5, 19 and 26 and Nov. 23. These games will be played at Cardinal Stadium, 2800 S. Floyd St.
