Flaget Memorial Hospital, part of KentuckyOne Health, will be opening a family care physician’s office in New Haven, Ky., in early 2013.
The decision to open the practice was made after the hospital’s staff did a needs assessment, according to a news release from the hospital. “Part of the mission of KentuckyOne Health is to bring access to health care close to home,” said Flaget Vice President of Ambulator Services and Projects Rick Van Cise. “It’s clear that New Haven is a medically-underserved area.”
The building that will house the new practice will be constructed on what is currently a vacant lot on Center Street across from the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home.
Flaget Memorial is also opening a primary care practice in Hodgenville, Ky., at 2 p.m. on Nov. 9. The facility will be at 908 S. Lincoln Blvd. in Hodgenville.
