Five priests receive new assignments

Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz has made the following appointments, effective June 18:

Fr. Henriksen
Fr. Henriksen

Reverend Steven D. Henriksen has been appointed administrator of the Church of the Ascension.

Father Henriksen was born in Clarinda, Iowa, and studied at Sacred Heart School of Theology. He was ordained on Feb. 2, 2013, and previously served at Holy Trinity Church in Louisville.

 

 

Fr. Padgett
Fr. Padgett

Reverend Gary T. Padgett has been appointed pastor of St. James and St. Brigid churches in Louisville.

Father Padgett, a Louisville native, studied at Saint Meinrad School of Theology. He was ordained on June 5, 1999, and has served at Holy Spirit Church, Louisville, and Church of the Ascension.

 

Fr. Linebach
Fr. Linebach

Reverend Martin A. Linebach has been appointed pastor of St. James Church in Elizabethtown, Ky., St. Ignatius Church in White Mills, Ky., and St. Ambrose Church in Cecilia, Ky.

Father Linebach was born in Louisville and studied at Theological College/Catholic University of America. He was ordained on May 30, 1987. He has served at the following churches: Mother of Good Counsel, Holy Trinity in Louisville, the Cathedral of the Assumption, St. Aloysius in Pewee Valley, Ky., St. Boniface, St. Ignatius Martyr and most recently at  St. Patrick.

 

Fr. Shooner
Fr. Shooner

Reverend Jeffrey P. Shooner has been appointed pastor of St. Patrick Church, while continuing his duties as vocation director and Vicar for Priests.

Father Shooner was born in Covington, Ky., and studied at Theological College/Catholic University of America. He was ordained on Dec. 11, 2004, and has served at the following churches: Immaculate Conception in LaGrange, Ky., St. James in Elizabethtown, St. Ignatius in White Mills, St. Lawrence and St. Boniface.

 

Fr. Walker
Fr. Walker

Reverend Charles D. Walker has been appointed chaplain of Catholic Campus Ministry at the University of Louisville.

Father Walker, a native of Loretto, Ky., studied at Saint Meinrad School of Theology and was ordained on May 30, 1981. He has served at the following churches: St. Raphael, SS. Peter and Paul in Danville, Ky., Emmanuel in Albany, Ky., Holy Cross in Burkesville, Ky., St. Pius X, St. Polycarp, St. Clement, St. Peter the Apostle and most recently at St. James in Elizabethtown, St. Ignatius in White Mills and St. Ambrose in Cecilia.
