Bellarmine University will award 275 degrees at its December graduation exercises on Dec. 21. Father J. Ronald Knott, a retired priest of the Archdiocese of Louisville, will deliver the commencement address.
The ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. in Knights Hall on Bellarmine’s campus. The university plans to award degrees to 184 graduate and 91 undergraduate students.
Father Knott, who served as Bellarmine’s director of Catholic worship from 1999 until his retirement this year, will also receive an honorary doctoral degree.
Father Knott, a native of Rhodelia, Ky., was ordained in 1970. He served as pastor of the Cathedral of the Assumption from 1983-1997 and oversaw an $11 million renovation and revitalization of the parish. He was the founding director of the Institute for Priests and Presbyterates at St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology.
He also writes a regular column, “An Encouraging Word,” in this publication.
Bellarmine University’s commencement will be live-streamed.
