Families invited to decorate ‘tree of remembrance’

Catholic Cemeteries is inviting families to hang Christmas ornaments on Calvary Cemetery’s “tree of remembrance” during Advent this year.

The cemetery, located at 1600 Newburg Road, will light a tree near its main gate on Dec. 1. Beginning that day, people are invited to place ornaments in memory of loved ones.

Visitors are asked to stop by the cemetery office first, for assistance. The office will also provide a personalized complimentary ornament or visitors may bring their own.

The tree will remain lit until the feast of the Epiphany, Jan. 6. Ornaments that remain after Jan. 6 will be collected and held in the office until Jan. 31.
