Event for men interested in the diaconate set

RecordLogo-FCatholic men interested in serving as deacons are invited to attend Deacon Discernment Evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 18 at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown, Ky., and Nov. 17 at St. Augustine Church, 1310 W. Broadway.

“These evenings are intended to assist men who are considering a call to diaconate to come together for prayer, learn more about whom a deacon and his wife are, continue discernment of his call, and interact with others who are discerning a call,” an announcement from the Archdiocese of Louisville’s Diaconate Office said.

Men who have been accepted into the 2024 diaconate class, as well as those still in the application process, are encouraged to attend. For those who are married, spouses are also encouraged to attend.
