Earth & Spirit Center plans course on Ohio Valley region

The Passionist Earth & Spirit Center is offering a year-long “Earth literacy” course called “Discovering A Sense of Place” beginning May 20.

The 12-session course aims to educate older children and adults about the Ohio River Valley region through lectures and instruction. It will explore a variety of topics related to geography and environment, including “Our Rivers and Streams,” “Our Plants and Trees” and “Our Waste and Trash.”

The course includes a track for adults and one for children ages 9 to 14. Participants also register for individual classes. Classes meet on the third Sunday of each month from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The cost for the year is $240 for an adult and $140 for a child. Individual classes are $45 for an adult and $25 for a child. Some scholarships are available and no one will be refused for lack of funds. For information, call 452-2749 or send an email to info@earthandspiritcenter.org.
