Eagle Scout creates library at Community Catholic Center

Seventeen-year old Alex Herberger was recently awarded the rank of Eagle Scout by the Boy Scouts of America.

Herberger, a parishioner of St. Stephen Martyr Church and a junior at St. Xavier High School, is a member of Troop 67 at his parish.

For his Eagle Scout Leadership Project, Herberger designed, planned and built a library at the Community Catholic Center and collected 1,500 books.

Located in the Portland neighborhood, the center helps children in West Louisville gain access to Catholic schools in Louisville and Southern Indiana and offers tutoring and other support services.
