Donation enables Mercy Academy to install synthetic turf playing field

Mercy Academy, 5801 Fegenbush Lane, announced last week that it plans to turn its current grass playing field into a synthetic turf field for field hockey, soccer and lacrosse. The project is being funded by a $400,000 gift from Joy Evans.

The school also plans to add stadium lights to its main playing field and its softball stadium. Construction is set to begin in about a month and is projected to be complete this summer.
