Dominican Sister of Peace Regina Marie Bruner dies

Dominican Sister of Peace Regina Marie Bruner died on April 24 at Sansbury Care Center on the grounds of the motherhouse in St. Catharine, Ky.

She was 85 and had been a Dominican for 65 years.

Sister Bruner served as a teacher in Nebraska, Chicago, Memphis, Illinois and Kentucky.

In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at Sts. Simon and Jude School.

She served as a receptionist and office assistant at Sansbury Care Center beginning in 1983. In 1988, she started tutoring students and serving as a part-time secretary at St. Dominic School in Springfield, Ky.

More recently, she served as a volunteer and in the ministry of prayer and presence at the motherhouse campus and Sansbury Care Center.

She is survived by several nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on April 30 at the Sansbury Care Center Chapel. Burial will be in the St. Catharine Motherhouse Cemetery.

Visitation will be on April 29 at 3 p.m. in the Sansbury chapel.
