Dominican Sister Laetitia Anne Campbell dies at 89

DominicanLogo2015Dominican Sister of Peace Laetitia Anne Campbell died on May 20 at Sansbury Care Center on the campus of the Dominican Sisters of Peace in St. Catharine, Ky. She was 89 and had been a Dominican for 67 years.

Sister Campbell, a native of Boston, served as an educator, in pastoral ministry and in leadership and administration for her religious community in Kentucky, Massachusetts and Illinois.

In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she served as a principal and teacher of St. Albert the Great School. She served as regional superior of the Dominican Sisters’ eastern region and served as administrator of Sansbury Care Center.

She also served as associate director of Field Education and Priest Formation at St. John Seminary in Massachusetts. She moved to Sansbury Care Center in 2015.

She is survived by her brother, Terence, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. June 8, in the Sansbury Care Center Chapel.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated June 9 in the chapel at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the St. Catharine Motherhouse Cemetery.
