Day Spring’s annual Concrete Ball to be May 19 at Downtown Marriott

Day Spring, the local community that provides a residential setting for adults with intellectual disabilities, will hold its 12th annual “Spring Concrete Ball” May 19 at the Louisville Downtown Marriott, 280 W. Jefferson St.

All proceeds from the event provide assistance to those living in the Day Spring community.

The theme of this year’s Concrete Ball is “Off to the Races,” and celebrates the heritage of our city and Commonwealth — Thoroughbred racing, the Kentucky Derby and the Kentucky Oaks. The evening will begin with cocktails and a silent auction at 6 p.m., followed by a “Derby style” dinner at 7:30 p.m., then music and dancing from 8:30 p.m. to midnight.

Guests will have a chance to participate in a live auction, best dressed gentleman contest, and best Derby hat contest. For additional information, call Day Spring at 636-5990, ext. 208.
