Conversational Spanish classes will be offered

OMMLogoThe Archdiocese of Louisville’s Office of Multicultural Ministry (OMM), is offering “Conversational Spanish Classes” for those people who want to enhance their ability to communicate in Spanish with the Hispanic community in their parishes.

According to a news release from OMM, the eight-week series of classes is designed to “enrich the interactions between those who speak the language.” Those attending should be able to speak Spanish; the classes are not Spanish Level I or Level II classes.

The classes are intended to assist those who have taken the language but have not had the opportunity to speak it on a regular basis, the OMM release said.

Among those the classes are intended to assist are youth ministers, parish leaders, parish secretaries, formation coordinators, music ministers, directors of religious education and other parish staff members.

The classes will be held on Thursdays, beginning Dec. 11, through Feb. 12. The hours are 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and the location is the Maloney Center at 1200 S. Shelby St. Classes will not be held on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. The cost is $75. To register or for more information, call OMM at 636-0296.
