SERVICES & DEVOTIONS

A Special Disciples of Jesus Mass will be celebrated on June 28 at 3 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road. Special-needs families and friends are invited to attend the shortened Mass intended for children. A light reception will follow. HERE AND THERE

The Young Catholic Professionals Louisville Chapter will hold the next session in its Executive Speaker Series focused on “Faith in the Workplace” on June 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Epiphany Church, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road. 

The speaker will be Chase Cloutier, director of graduate theology programs for St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. To register for the free event, which will include complimentary drinks and appetizers, visit YCPlouisville.org.

The Catholic Single Adults Club will host a night out on June 28 for singles 50 and over. It will begin with Putt-Putt at 3 p.m., and dinner at Culver’s will follow at 5 p.m. For more information

SUPPORT GROUPS

The Hope and Healing Grief Group for those touched by the loss of a loved one to substance use or addiction meets at St. Albert the Great Church, 1395 Girard Drive, on the third Wednesday of the month from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Center. Parents of Addicted Loved Ones (PAL) meets weekly on Sundays from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at St. John Paul II Church, 3525 Goldsmith Lane.

A NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) family support group is offered at St. Albert the Great Church, 1395 Girard Dr., on the third Sunday of the month from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. in the Parish Life Center. The group is designed to provide an open and supportive environment for those caring for a person with mental illness, including anxiety, depression, addiction, suicidal ideation or other diagnoses. All are welcome.

ALUMNI EVENTS

Holy Rosary Academy’s class of 1976 will hold a 50-year reunion on July 18 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Rooster’s Restaurant, 5338 Bardstown Road. Interested alumnae who have not been contacted are asked to reach out to Barbara Heeb Smith at smith2660@bellsouth.net.

EDUCATION & ENRICHMENT

The Office of Worship will offer Communion Minister Formation for those preparing to serve as extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion and for those presently serving who need to renew their mandate. The next formation session will be held on June 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 4005 Dixie Highway.

The Adult Christian Enrichment Program of St. Bernadette Church offers a series of classes via Zoom on Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and again on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

On June 25 and 26, Deacon Pat Harris will discuss “Ancient BCE Concepts of Life After Death.” Call Lynnette LeGette at 802-5966 to register for free and receive the link to the class.

The Archdiocese of Louisville Ministry Institute will offer a workshop on confirmation on June 18 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Maloney Center, 1200 S. Shelby St.

The Community Education Series at Nazareth Home will host its next event on June 24 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Highlands Campus Chapel, 2000 Newburg Road. 

Sheri Rose will discuss “innovation that sustains health and well-being.”

A Bible study led by Father Joe Rankin will be held at 6:30 p.m. on June 18 at St. Rita Church, 8709 Preston Highway. The topic is “I hear the whisperings of many: ‘Terror on every side!’ ”
