Community Back to School and College Fair planned for Aug. 14

The Archdiocese of Louisville’s Office of Multicultural Ministry will host its 14th annual Community Back to School and College Fair on Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., or until supplies run out, at the Catholic Enrichment Center, 3146 West Broadway.

According to an announcement from the Office of Multicultural ministry, “the goal of the event is to assist youth with a successful start to the school year by providing necessary school supplies.”
Representatives from local educational institutions will be available to provide information on educational opportunities for those interested in higher education.

The event is free to the public. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Those who wish to donate school supplies such as pens, pencils, paper, notebooks, markers, crayons and backpacks may drop them off by July 27 at the Maloney Center, 1200 S. Shelby Street, or at the Catholic Enrichment Center. Monetary donations to be used toward the purchase of supplies will also be accepted.

For more information, call 471-2146 or 776-0262. This event is a component of the Family Life and Community Outreach and Academic Enrichment programs which minister to families regardless of race, religion or geographical location.
