Children of backside workers hunt for eggs

Photos Special to The Record From darkness into light More than 100 children of race track workers, above, participated in an Easter egg hunt hosted by the Kentucky Race Track Chaplaincy March 26 in the infield at Churchill Downs. The interdenominational Christian race track ministry, which includes local Catholics, serves workers at Kentucky’s race tracks and horse training centers. In the photo below, Hunter Johnson, an eighth-grader at St. Nicholas Academy, carried the cross during a Good Friday procession on New Cut Road March 25. The students later prayed the Stations of the Cross, a tradition at St. Nicholas.
