Catholic schools plan open houses this month and next

All Archdiocese of Louisville elementary schools in the Louisville area will hold an open house on Oct. 25.

Families interested in Catholic education may visit any of the elementary schools in Jefferson (31 schools), Oldham (St. Aloysius School in Pewee Valley) or Shelby (Corpus Christi Classical Academy in Simpsonville) counties from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Call 634-1315 or visit for more information.

In addition to the common open house, individual schools have announced plans to hold open houses and information sessions. They are:

  • Holy Angels Academy, 12201 Old Henry Road, will hold an open house from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 23. And guided tours will be offered Oct. 24 to 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The school offers elementary, middle and high school classes. For more information, call 254-9440. 
  • The following Sacred Heart Schools, located on the Ursuline campus at 3107 Lexington Road, are welcoming visits from prospective families:
    Sacred Heart Model School will hold an open house in building 1 on the campus Nov. 3 from 8:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
    Sacred Heart Preschool will hold an open house Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in buildings 8 and 17 on the campus.
    Sacred Heart Academy (SHA) will hold a parent information night Nov. 10 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in building 19 on the campus. Parents are invited to hear from faculty members on various topics, including academics, learning differences and financial aid. SHA will also host an open house Dec. 4 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • St. Albert the Great School, 1395 Girard Drive, will host open house events on Nov. 13 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Jan. 11 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Jan. 22 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
