Catholic Charities forming team for 5K

catholiccharitieslogo-1.19.17-fCatholic Charities is forming a running team to compete in the Anthem 5K Race on March 4.

The team, called Race 4 Refugees, aims to raise $1,000 to help refugee clients during an emergency.

Team members are asked to raise at least $75 each. They will receive a Race 4 Refugees team shirt.

The team will have its first meeting and training run on Feb. 4 at 9 a.m. The team will gather at the Catholic Charites offices at 2911 S. Fourth St. and run about a mile and a half.

The second training run will be about 2 miles and will begin at 10 a.m. on Feb. 18 at the Big Four Walking Bridge on the Louisville side.

The third training run will begin at 10 a.m. on Feb. 25 and will be three miles in Cherokee Park.

A post-race brunch is planned for the team.
