Assumption High School will host ‘Rocket Spectacular’ dinner Feb. 1

Assumption High School will host its annual Rocket Spectacular Dinner and Auction Feb. 1 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the school’s Convocation and Athletic Center, 2170 Tyler Lane.

The evening’s theme is a “flash back-in-time to Assumption’s opening year, 1955, with malt shops, drive-ins and poodle skirts,” a news release from the school said.

Hors d’oeuvres and dinner will be provided by Mirabelle Gourmet Catering with a cash bar. Live auction items include beach condo packages in Gulf Shores, Ala., and Sandestin, Fla; a British Columbia fishing expedition; an evening with Hall of Fame Coach Denny Crum; and Notre Dame football tickets. There also will be a silent auction, an assortment of raffles and a capital prize drawing of $20,000.

Melissa Swan of WHAS-11 will be the master of ceremonies. Visit www.ahsrockets.org to make reservations or buy capital prize tickets. All proceeds provide financial assistance to students in need.
