Earlier this month, on a trip to Samuels, Ky., Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre made a visit to the new office at St. Gregory the Great School.
Following the parish’s confirmation on May 6, the archbishop dedicated and blessed the school’s new 1,677 square-foot office space. He was accompanied by St. Gregory’s pastor, Father Charles Mungai, and Deacon Mark Preischel, associate director of diaconal formation for the archdiocese.
“The new office was an entirely new space that was added onto the existing school building. It features a new entryway, area for the school secretary, office for the principal, counselor, a teacher workroom, student sick room, and restroom,” according to St. Gregory’s business manager, Kim Fell.
The addition was also built with student safety in mind, said Fell. It features a locked vestibule at the school entrance, designed to screen school visitors before they may enter the building, noted Fell.
The $800,000 addition was paid for in part by school savings accounts that had accumulated funds over several years, noted Fell. The remainder came from fundraising efforts and donations.
