Official: Archbishop announces administrator pro tempore of Holy Trinity, Holy Name

Father Wayne Jenkins

Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz has made the following appointment, effective Jan. 16 through June 20:

Reverend J. Wayne Jenkins, will be Administrator Pro Tempore of Holy Trinity and Holy Name churches.

Father Jenkins, born in Elizabethtown, Ky., studied at Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Norwood, Ohio. He was ordained on May 27, 1972.

Father Jenkins has resided at Holy Trinity Church and served as a senior associate since 2016.

Since his ordination, Father Jenkins has been assigned to the following parishes: Pastor of St. Barnabas; St. Catherine in New Haven, Ky.; St. Denis and St. Albert the Great. He has served as presbyteral moderator of St. William and as an associate pastor of Holy Trinity, Holy Spirit, Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Aloysius in Pewee Valley, St. Helen and St. Margaret Mary. He also served as Chaplain at Central State Hospital and Sacred Heart Academy. 

Father Jenkins also was director and chaplain for the Rural Offices of Religious Education Russell Hall Community in Nazareth, Ky.; director of the Clergy Personnel Office and provided service to the Diaconate Personnel Board.
