Annual coloring contest winners are announced

The annual Ancient Order of Hibernians St. Patrick’s Coloring Contest drew more than 5,000 entries from elementary school students throughout the Archdiocese of Louisville and surrounding states.

This year’s grand prize winner was Mia Cochran, a second-grader from Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in New Albany, Ind. Each winner received their drawing in a frame and a t-shirt stating that they are a

“Coloring Contest Winner.” The grand prize winner also received a $100 savings bond from King Southern Bank, and will be part of this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 9.

Here are this year’s other winners:

Kindergarten winners were — First place, Joshua Fernandez of Our Lady of Lourdes School; second place, Landon Bennett of Holy Trinity School; third place, Maria Le of St. Nicholas Academy.

First grade winners were — First place, Parker Hoyer of St. Athanasius School; Couper Evans of St. James School won second place, and Patrick Bremner of Holy Spirit School won the third-place prize.

Second grade winners were — First, Hadley Thomas of Holy Spirit; second was Clarah Pazienza of St. Patrick School; third was Kairi Soeseno of St. Bernard School.

Third grade winners were — Caroline Largen of St.  Michael School was first; Caitlyn Birk of St. Patrick was second; and Jenna Vogt, also of St. Patrick, was third.

Fourth grade winners were — First place, Madison Hardwick of St. Francis of Assisi School; Chloe Corso of Our Lady of Lourdes School was second; and Sarah Koch of St. Agnes School was third.
