AssumptionLogo2015-fRebecca Joaquin, a teacher at Assumption High School, was one of 50 teachers selected from across the United States as a 2016 American Geographical Society Geography Teacher Fellow.

As part of the award, Joaquin, who teaches advanced placement human geography, will attend the AGS Fall Symposium on Nov. 17 and 18 in New York City. The symposium will allow the fellows “to gain valuable cutting edge content knowledge and awareness of the real-world geographic workplace skills demanded by today’s geospatial companies,” a news release from the organization said.
