Trinity High School teacher Patrick Heintz was honored with the STEM Teacher of the Year award by the Louisville Chapter of the Air Force Association, which advocates for and promotes aerospace and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education.
Heintz is chair of Trinity’s science department.
The award “salutes those classroom educators who steer their students toward greatness in STEM field,” according to the AFA’s website.
Trinity’s STEM program “includes a variety of classes that focus on developing students’ critical thinking and problem-solving by combining their interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics,” said an announcement from the school.
