The faithful honor Mary in May

During May, the month of Mary, parishes and schools are honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary by participating in May crownings and processions.

The St. Mary Academy community gathered on April 30 to honor Mary, the namesake of the school, during a May Crowning Mass. Eighth-grader Brynlee Kosek crowned the school statue. The parish communities of St. Augustine in Lebanon, Ky., and Holy Name of Mary in Calvary, Ky., honored the Blessed Mother on May 3 with a procession and crowning. On May 4, students from Holy Spirit School participated in a May Crowning. Second-graders processed into the church with flowers.
