Trinity, bright spot of Christ’s love in the world

Noah McQuillen
The phrase frequently echoed at Trinity High School is that Trinity is a Catholic, college-preparatory high school forming men of faith and men of character. Throughout my four years, I often heard this phrase, but did not truly understand what it meant. However, I have slowly come to realize the many opportunities Trinity has provided for me and now understand what makes the school such a bright spot of Christ’s love in a world filled with despair. Trinity has taught me to care for others fiercely and to put my faith at the center of my life.
Jesus teaches that his followers should love their neighbors as themselves. Trinity has taught me to care for others and treat all people with the utmost respect. I understood the importance of this care during my very first English class freshman year. My teacher began by asking each of the students to write down his birthday and favorite candy. We thought nothing of the small ice-breaking exercise, but soon realized that he had done it for a very specific reason. The purpose of this was so my teacher could bring each student the candy that he had written down when his birthday came around. This small gesture by my teacher showed us, from the very beginning of our high school experience, the importance of caring for others and making sacrifices for them. However, this is not the only lesson he taught us through his example. When we received the candy, he made sure that we said thank you. He did not do this to make himself feel good but rather to teach us about the importance of appreciation. Throughout my time at Trinity, I have had numerous experiences like this one that have taught me invaluable lessons about how to care for others and be grateful in all circumstances.
Although there are many things that Trinity does to prepare students for life after high school, the most important thing that Trinity teaches is how to put Christ at the center of one’s life. This is done through theology classes, school Masses, and retreat programs. It is also achieved through the continued efforts of all those in the school community to set an example of what it is like to be a strong Catholic. This emphasis on the importance of living a life alongside God has prepared me to go forth next year as a college student.
Year after year, Trinity works to prepare young men with the skills and insights necessary to succeed. While here, I have learned the importance of caring for others fully and putting Christ at the center of my life. Trinity is truly a unique place of remarkable individuals who dedicate themselves to forming young men of faith and young men of character.
Time at Trinity was journey of growth

Joseph DaDan
Over the past four years at Trinity High School, I have learned valuable lessons that extend beyond textbooks and classrooms. Trinity has provided me with an environment that fosters both academic and personal growth, allowing me to develop into the person I am today. These experiences have shaped my passions, strengthened my independence, deepened my connection to the community, and taught me the importance of perseverance. But high school for me was more than just academics — it was a journey of growth, self-discovery, and resilience. As I prepare to step into the future, I carry with me the knowledge that every challenge is an opportunity for growth.
From a young age, I have had a passion for creativity and artistic expression. At Trinity, I had the opportunity to explore this passion further through various art classes that pushed my imagination and skills to new levels. These experiences not only refined my artistic abilities but also gave me a sense of purpose and direction. Art has become more than just a hobby — it is a fundamental part of who I am. Moving forward, I plan to incorporate my creativity into my future endeavors, whether through personal projects, a career in design, or artistic contributions to my community.
The transition from freshman year to senior year was a transformative experience. Learning to manage my responsibilities — balancing school, extracurriculars, and personal commitments — was a challenge that required self-discipline and resilience. No one reminded me to complete assignments or prepare for tests; it became my responsibility to stay on track. I also learned to control my emotions and remain composed even when faced with difficulties. These experiences have prepared me for the independence that comes with college and adulthood, where accountability and time management are essential to success.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my high school journey was giving back to the community. Trinity has always emphasized the importance of service, and through volunteering at Dare to Care and Hand In Hand Ministries’ warehouses for service projects, I saw firsthand the impact that small acts of kindness can have on others. Through these experiences, I learned that true fulfillment comes from helping those in need. This lesson has inspired me to continue making a difference, whether through community service, future career choices, or simply being there for those who need support.
However, it was not without its struggles. There were times when I doubted myself, particularly when facing difficult academic challenges. Receiving low grades on tests or assignments made me question my abilities, but instead of giving up, I sought help, worked harder, and persevered. Trinity provided me with the resources and support to push through these setbacks, reinforcing that failure is not the end — it is a stepping stone toward success. Learning to push through obstacles has strengthened my resilience, a skill that will undoubtedly help me navigate the challenges of the future.
My time here at Trinity has been more than just four years of education — it has been a foundation for the rest of my life. Through discovering my passions, learning independence, giving back, and building resilience, I am ready to step into the future with confidence. My time at Trinity has prepared me for the road ahead, and no matter what challenges lie ahead, I know that each one is an opportunity to grow and become the best version of myself.
Trinity High School built on moments of quiet impact

Jason Bui
A school is often measured by its achievements — championship trophies, academic accolades, and college acceptances. These accomplishments tell part of the story, but they do not define what makes a place unforgettable. The true measure of a school is the quiet impact it has on those who walk its halls — the lessons that are not found in textbooks but in the everyday moments that shape character and purpose.
Trinity High School is built on these moments. A student struggling with a concept finds a teacher willing to stay after class until understanding clicks. A teammate on the verge of quitting hears encouragement from someone who refuses to let him fail. A group of students, faced with the reality of hardship in their community, takes action rather than looking away. These experiences are not listed in school brochures, but they are the moments that leave lasting impressions.
There was a time when these lessons seemed abstract, just words repeated in speeches or written on banners. Then, they became real. They appeared in the quiet moments when classmates stayed late to help with a difficult assignment, when teachers noticed more than just test scores, and when friends showed up in times of struggle. Trinity is not just a place where knowledge is gained; it is a place where character is built through the simple, powerful act of people caring for one another.
It is easy to focus on success as a final destination, a point to reach and celebrate. But Trinity teaches that success is not an individual pursuit; it is measured in how one lifts others along the way. The strongest students are not just the ones with high grades but the ones who stop to help a classmate who is struggling. The best leaders are not those who command attention but those who serve quietly and consistently. The most prepared graduates are not only those with polished résumés but those who have learned how to meet challenges with resilience and integrity.
Beyond academics and athletics, Trinity instills a deeper lesson: the power of presence. The ability to show up — for others, for difficult moments, for opportunities to grow — becomes the foundation for life beyond high school. Whether in the form of a teacher’s patience, a friend’s support, or a coach’s belief in potential, these small acts of presence shape the person who eventually must leave and step into the real world.
Education is often thought of as preparation for the future. But Trinity offers more than preparation — it provides transformation. It does not just shape students; it forms men of character, ready to step into the world not only with knowledge but with the understanding that real success is measured in how one serves, supports, and strengthens those around them.
