The Archdiocese of Louisville is encouraging parishes to take up a special collection in the coming weeks to benefit Hurricane Dorian relief efforts. Donations will be forwarded to Catholic Relief Services, the international outreach arm of the U.S. bishops.
Hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas Sept. 1 as a category five storm, devastating parts of the island nation. The death toll stood at 50 as of Sept. 12, but with more than 2,500 people missing, the toll was expected to rise.
Checks should be made payable to your parish with the notation “2019 Hurricane Dorian CRS Collection.” Each parish should send one check to the Archdiocese of Louisville Finance Office.
