Students make cards for refugees

Children in Our Lady of Lourdes Church’s religious education program, including Stella Derenge, left, and Katelyn Kelly, made about 50 cards for refugees served by the Americana Community Center. They joined in a city-wide effort to allay the fears of refugees in the wake of the presidential election.

President-elect Donald J. Trump has pledged to curtail the flow of refugees and immigrants to the United States, a move the nation’s bishops oppose.
