More than 700 students received diplomas May 11 during commencement ceremonies held at Bellarmine University and St. Catharine College in Springfield, Ky.

St. Catharine presented diplomas to 159 students at the school’s 81st commencement ceremony. Among those were 11 students from Washington County High School. They received associate of arts degrees one week before their high school graduation. The group was part of the inaugural Commander College class.

The college also conferred graduate degrees for the first time at Saturday’s ceremony. Nine students received a master of arts degree.

Dr. Dustan E. McCoy, chairman and chief executive officer of Brunswick Corporation, gave the commencement address.

The college also honored the late Rebecca L. Otto with an honorary bachelor of arts degree. Otto was a student who passed away during the spring semester.
