13th annual Thomas Merton Black History Lecture set for Feb. 20

The 13th Annual Thomas Merton Black History Lecture will be held at Hilary’s, Centro, Bellarmine University, 2001 Newburg Road, on Feb. 20 at 7 p.m.

Franciscan Friar Daniel P. Horan will present “Racism is a White Problem: Thomas Merton, Whiteness, and Racial Justice.”

Father Horan is a professor of systematic theology at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, co-host of The Francis Effect podcast and author of 12 books, including “The Franciscan Heart of Thomas Merton: A New Look at the Spiritual Inspiration of his Life, Thought, and Writing.”
