Sister of Charity of Nazareth Carol Ann Bonn, a teacher, dies at 75

SCNLogo2015Sister of Charity of Nazareth Carol Ann Bonn, 75, died at Nazareth Home Feb. 24. She had been a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 53 years.

Sister Bonn, a native of Columbus, Ohio, served in education in Kentucky and Ohio. 

In Kentucky, she taught from 1965 to 1982  in the Archdiocese of Louisville, and the Diocese of Owensboro, Ky. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, Sister Bonn taught at the former St. Theresa Academy in Payneville, Ky., and its successor Cross Roads Public School.

In 1991, she began serving in pastoral ministry in Ohio, and later served as a chaplain and outreach coordinator in Arkansas.

She is survived by her sister, Eileen Marie Pavlic of Westerville, Ohio; her brother, John William Bonn of Hilliard, Ohio; and by members of her religious community.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent Church in Nazareth, Ky., on Feb. 28 at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial in Nazareth Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 27 and after 4 p.m. in St. Vincent Church. A prayer service will follow at 6:30 p.m.
