Shorn for St. Baldrick

Boosters at Our Lady of Lourdes School sponsored a St. Baldrick’s event at the parish fish fry on March 16. According to Joanne Brock, a teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes School, the goal was to raise $1,500 for pediatric cancer research and to support two parishioners in their battles against childhood cancer. What began, she said, with 10 volunteers grew to more than 70, and $15,000 was raised. More than 50 students at Our Lady of Lourdes School had their hair and locks shorn, and many of them are pictured above following the event. (Photo special to The Record)
