Fourth Encuentro for Spanish-speaking Catholics planned Sept. 24

RecordLogo-FThe Office of Multicultural Ministries’ Hispanic Ministry will host its fourth Hispanic Encuentro on Sept. 24 from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at St. John Paul II Church, 3521 Goldsmith Lane (formerly St. Pius X Church).

“Family: Love and Mercy” will be the day’s theme. It will include Mass celebrated by Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz, confession, speakers and workshops for the entire family.

Among the event’s speakers are: Father Rafael Capó, director of the Southeast Pastoral Institute (SEPI); Father David Sánchez, pastor of Holy Name and St. Joseph churches; Father Ismael Hernandez, associate pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in La Grange, Ky.; Father Carlos Conde, associate pastor St. Bartholomew Church; Father Wilfredo Fernandez, associate pastor of the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown, Ky.; and Eva Gonzalez, director of Hispanic Ministry for the Archdiocese of Louisville.

The cost is $25 for adults; $10 for high school and middle school youth; and $5 for children in preschool to fifth grade. Lunch is included. For more information, call 471-2146.
