Dominican Sister Bernadette Marie Lynch, a teacher, dies at age 89

Dominican Sister of Peace Bernadette Marie Lynch died on Dec. 19 at Sansbury Care Center on the grounds of the St. Catharine Motherhouse in Springfield, Ky. She was 89 and had been a Dominican Sister for 65 years.

Sister Lynch served as a teacher for most of her ministry at schools in Tennessee and Massachusetts. She moved to Sansbury Care Center in 2005 and entered the ministry of prayer.

She is survived by her brother, John, a sister, Theresa Thompson, and nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 27 and burial was in the St. Catharine Motherhouse cemetery.
