Literary award

The Assumption High School literary magazine “Rose Window” earned first place with special merit from the American Scholastic Press Association.

The annual publication also received an award for outstanding art and outstanding overall photography.

Wordmasters

Two teams representing St. Francis of Assisi School achieved high honors in the recent WordMasters competition, a national vocabulary contest.

The seventh-grade team scored 168 points out of a possible 200 in the first of three meets this year, placing third in the nation.

The sixth-grade team scored 175 points and finished seventh nationwide.

Sixth-grader Lainey Render earned a perfect score of 20 in the blue division.

AP Spanish exam

Jorge Rojas-Ortega, a junior at Trinity High School, achieved a perfect score on last year’s Spanish Language and Culture
Advanced Placement Exam.

Spring musical

Sacred Heart Academy will present “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.; Feb. 21, 27 and 28 at 7 p.m.; and Feb. 22 at 2 p.m.

All shows will be in the Ursuline Arts Center, building #5 on the Ursuline campus, 3105 Lexington Road.

Tickets for the Feb. 20 morning performance are $4. Tickets for all other performances are $8 for students/senior citizens and $10 for adults. They can be purchased online at showtix4u.com or at the door. For more information, call 897-1816.
