Workshop to address stress, anxiety and depression in youth to be offered

St. Margaret Mary Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road, will host a presentation about SAD children (children and teens who are suffering from sadness, anxiety and depression along with other mental health issues) on March 17 at 3:15 p.m. in the Hospitality Room.

Doctor Tony Sheppard, founder of Groupworks, will speak with the parents of children who range in age from early adolescence through high school. Parents will learn how to recognize signs and how to support their children and their classmates.

Concurrently, Doctor Zach Thieneman will lead a discussion with teenagers who are in grades 7 through 12 about signs and symptoms of SAD, stressors, and methods for coping.

Mass will follow at 5 p.m. for all who would like to attend.
