Mr. and Mrs. John A. Yocum, members of St. Lawrence Church, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary June 19. Mrs. Yocum, the former Linda Marie Rickert, worked at Rockford Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Yocum retired from Whayne Supply. The couple have two children and two grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Karl Turner, members of St. Martin De Porres Church, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary May 27 with a family vacation. Mrs.Turner, the former Barbara E. DuCharme, retired from General Electric Company. Mr. Turner retired from E.I. DuPont DeNemours & Co. and DuPont Dow Elastomers, LLC. The couple have three children, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. James Patrick Pike, members of St. Paul Church, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 16. Mrs. Pike, the former Mary Phyllis Hardesty, is a homemaker and served on the kitchen staff of Meadow South and Waverly Hills Nursing homes. Mr. Pike was a barber in Shively for 20 years and retired from Civil Service as a maintenance mechanic at Fort Knox after 22 years. The couple have six children, 19 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Magre, members of St. Therese Church, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 19. Mrs. Magre, the former Judy Simpson, is a retired JCPS teacher. Mr. Magre retired from the City of Louisville and the Archdiocese of Louisville. The couple have three sons and a granddaughter.
William R. and Brenda Gail Knott, members of St. Mary Magdalen of Pazzi Church in Payneville, Ky., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 19. Mrs. Knott, the former Brenda Gail Staples, retired from River City Bank. Mr. Knott retired from UPS. The couple have three children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Raymond B. and Cathy Case Bannon, members of St. Frances of Rome Church, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 18. Mrs. Bannon retired in 2011 after 34 years in education and pastoral ministry. Mr. Bannon is general counsel for Flynn Holdings. The couple have three children and three grandchildren.
