Ursulines to host event on local church architecture

ursuline_sisters_lou-7.27.16-wThe 100-year-old Ursuline Motherhouse Chapel will host a presentation on Catholic church architecture on Sept. 24 at 2 p.m.

The chapel, which is celebrating its centenary this year with multiple events, is located at 3115 Lexington Road. Architect and historian Steve Wiser will discuss the architecture of the chapel and of other local churches dating from the mid-1800s to modern times.

Wiser is a fellow of the American Institute of Architects, a tour guide at Cave Hill Cemetery and author of “Historic Houses of Louisville” and “Louisville Sites to See by DESIGN.” He is also the president of the Louisville Historical League.

The event is free and open to the public.
