Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph Mary Raymond Dieckman, an educator, dies at 84

OSU-MSJ-Logo-2016Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph Mary Raymond Dieckman died Oct. 27 in Maple Mount, Ky. She was 84 and in her 66th year of religious life.

Sister Dieckman, a native of Kansas City, Kan., served as the superior of the Ursuline Sisters of Paola in Paola, Kan., from 1974 to 1982. That order merged with Mount Saint Joseph in 2008.

Sister Dieckman served as an educator in Kansas and Oklahoma for 19 years.

She also served in Kansas as her community’s bookkeeper from 1990 to 2005, as a receptionist from 2007 to 2009 and as a hospice chaplain volunteer from 1994 to 2007. She moved to Maple Mount in 2009.

Sister Dieckman is survived by her sister Betty DuPont of Paola, nieces and nephews and the members of her religious community.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated today, Oct. 31, at Mount Saint Joseph.
