Ursuline Sister Mary Diane Taylor,
a professor of fine arts, dies at 88

Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph Mary Diane Taylor died June 28 in Maple Mount, Ky. She was 88 and in her 69th year of religious life.

Sister Taylor, a native of Fredericktown, Ky., served as a teacher for more than 60 years. From 1967 until her retirement in 2018, she was an art professor at Brescia University in Owensboro, Ky., and chaired its division of fine arts.

In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at the old St. Bernard Church High School in Clementsville, Ky., from 1963 to 1964. She also taught in Owensboro and Paducah, Ky., and Afton, Mo.

Survivors include her siblings Catherine Clements of Springfield, Ky.; Judy Thompson of Loretto, Ky.; Eleanor Rapier and Thomas B. Taylor, both of Bardstown, Ky.; nieces and nephews and members of her religious community.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated July 2.
