Ursuline Sister Marie Michael Hayden, 85, dies

Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph Marie Michael Hayden, 85, died June 13 at Mount Saint Joseph in Maple Mount, Ky. She had been an Ursuline for 63 years.

Sister Hayden, a native of Owensboro, Ky., served in religious education and parish ministry for 50 years in Kentucky, Nebraska and Missouri.

In the Archdiocese of Louisville she taught at St. Columba School from 1957-59 and St. Catherine School in New Haven, Ky., from 1959-64.

She spent her final years at the Motherhouse in the ministry of prayer.

Survivors include her siblings John Paschal Hayden, Huber Heights, Ohio; the Rev. Michael Hayden, San Pedro, Calif.; Dr. David Lee Hayden, White Plains, Md.; Rose Marie Cassidy, Eugene, Ore.; and Rachel Hayden, Owensboro; nieces and nephews and the members of her religious community.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Saint Joseph. Visitation will be June 17 at 4 p.m. with a service at 6:30 p.m.
