Ursuline Sister Jo Ann Hauntz, finance director, dies at 71

Ursuline Sister of Louisville Jo Ann Hauntz died Sept. 3 at the Ursuline Motherhouse in Louisville. She was 71 and served as the director of finance for the Ursuline Sisters.

Sister Hauntz was born in Louisville, graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree from Bellarmine College (now Bellarmine University).

She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville in 1982. Prior to that, she worked at Citizens Fidelity Bank and Trust for 15 years. She began working in the office of finance for the Ursuline Sisters in 1985 and had been director of finance since 1990.

Sister Hauntz is survived by her sister, Andrea Lee Foote, brother-in-law John Foote and nieces, Janna Lee McBride and Jolie Ann Foote, all of Manitoba, Canada; cousins Susanne Steinbock and Carla Sue Broecker, both of Louisville; and the Ursuline community.

Visitation will be at the Ursuline Motherhouse, 3115 Lexington Road, on Sept. 7 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a Vigil service at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bosse Funeral Home.
