Update sessions for extraordinary ministers of holy Communion set

The Office of Worship will offer formation sessions for extraordinary ministers of holy Communion in November.

There will be Communion minister formation sessions Nov. 11 and 18 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Raphael Church, 2141 Lancashire Avenue. The program is for those preparing to serve as extraordinary ministers of holy Communion, as well as those who are presently serving in this role but have not attended this program in the past.

The sessions include the theology of the Eucharist, liturgical ministry and the practical aspects of the role of the Communion minister. The program fulfills the training portion of the canonical mandate required for this ministry.

An update session on Communion minister formation will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 6 at St. Thomas Church in Bardstown, Ky. The update session is for ministers who need a mandate renewal and who have already completed the two-session Communion minister formation program.

There is no fee but registration is required. Register online at www.archlou.org/departments-and-services/agencies-facilities/worship-office; email worship@archlou.org; or call 636-0296, ext. 1260.
