Trinity junior collects school supplies for refugees

eaglescout-wJackson McArthur, a junior at Trinity High School, is collecting donations and school supplies for refugee children served by Catholic Charities Migration and Refugee Service as part of his Eagle Scout project. Jackson is a member of Troop 175 at St. Edward Parish.

Jackson will be taking up a collection at St. Gabriel Church Aug. 19 and 20. Individuals can also donate by “adopting” a child and purchasing all the items on his school supply list. Smaller amounts of school supplies are also welcomed.

All items should be dropped off at St. Gabriel Church, 5505 Bardstown Road, or St. Edward Church, 9608 Sue Helen Drive, by Sep. 1.

Jackson’s goal is to collect enough school supplies for 100 refugee children.
