Trinity High School students win speech awards

trinitylogo-10-29-15-fThe Trinity High School speech and debate team won awards in the Harlan Hamm Invitational competition Jan. 9 in Rowan County, Ky.

Mark Hughes, a freshman, won the top novice award in extemporaneous speaking and Jacob Steele, a junior, won the top novice award in impromptu speaking.
Senior Jorge Rojas-Ortega won first place in extemporaneous speaking.

Rojas-Ortega will compete in the tournament of champions, hosted by the University of Kentucky, later this year.
